It is impossible to burn the fat in a certain rea of your body by using exercise alone. In order to get  flat stomach an reveal your abs you should lose fat proportionately from the whole body. You should burn more calories than you consume.

Myth 2:
It is necessary to do tons of crunches to reduce body fat.

Overuse of crunches will only cause the reduction of your abs and improve your posture. To reduce fat in your body you should stick to a cardio exercise and nutritious diet. You should burn more calories than you consume. Cardio exercises are beneficial for burning the fat stores. Follow a low calorie diet plan which will force your body to use the stored fat for energy. Additionally, do crunches and total body workout ( incluing weight training) in order to gain muscle mass. The more muscles you have  the more fat your body uses for energy.

By doing crunches alone you will be able to build the abominal muscles and strengthen them but you won't have the opportunity to see your muscles because they will be covered with fat.

Myth 3:
Exercise is more important that diet.

Diet is very crucial in getting the flat tummy. It is necessary to plan your nutrition in advance. Include in your diet protein, green vegetables, fiber-rich fruits and zero calorie drinks such as Green Tea and water. Don't consume any sugar.

Myth 4:
It is necessary to train stomach area every day.

Truth
There is no need to train your tummy every day. It is recommended to train this area twice a week using non-conventional exercises such as Mountain Climbers and Stability Ball Jackknives which are also beneficial for reducing stress on your lower back. Don't overdo with the crunches and sit-ups in your workout program. If you are the beginner, focus on abominal endurance using planks and side planks, and work up to more advanced exercises.

Increase your daily activity. Reduce the use of labour saving devices like remote controls and others. Rearrange the house or office environment and make it physically inefficient so that your movements could be mandatory. Try standing or, even better, pacing when talking on the phone. Park your car on the distance from the entrance of the shop and use the stairs instead of the elevator.
