Probably you don’t want that your office has become a mini gym. But there are some simple exercises which can be done near or even at your desk. They will give you extra energy, help you get rid of stress and burn excess fat. Some of the exercises can be done at any time of day, for example while you are in the kitchen, office or even before you have a bath.
Here are simple exercises which can be practiced at your office: 1. Squats. You should stand in front of the office chair; your feet shoulder-width apart. Then try to bend your knees as though you are sitting on the chair. Your weight should be kept on your heels. As soon as your legs are parallel with the seat of the chair you can raise your body to the standing position.
2. To do plié squats you need to take a wide stance and your toes should point outwards. When you are in vertical position you should slowly bend your knees in the direction of your toes. Do it till the time when you can no longer see your toes. After that you can return to the starting position.
3. You can do the wall sits in such a way: with your back touching the wall you should try to move your feet away from the wall. The weight of your back must be supported by the wall. Your legs should form a 90-degree angle. You need to hold the position as long as possible.
4. Warrior’s position - with a lunge. Place your arms by your side, then take a giant step forward with your right leg. Your thigh should be parallel with the floor. Return to your starting position by pushing off the same leg. The exercise should be repeated with the left leg. (Traveling lunges can be also practiced.)
5. You can also do calf raises during the coffee break. To do the exercise you need to hold onto your desk, wall, slab or a file cabinet for balance. Try to raise your heels off the floor and then lower.
6. Toe raises can be done in such way: sitting in your chair or standing, you need to lift and lower your toes. Your heels should be kept on the ground. You can also walk around on the heels of your feet.
